Hey there! I’m Monique, a Keto enthusiast who believes in balance.

Monique from On and Off Keto

I found the keto diet in 2018 and lost 15lbs really quickly (within 2 months, no exercise) which made me fall in love with the diet. It’s easy to follow, I don’t feel like I’m starving and the food options are tasty and not bland and boring.

It’s the first way of life that seemed really easy to follow that would also get me to my goal weight.

However.

I believe in balance. Everything in moderation. The keto diet restricts things I’ve come to accept as very healthy and good for me. Things like fruit and oatmeal.

Oatmeal is a superfood, what you mean I can’t have no more oatmeal?!

It’s with this in mind that I have declared myself on and off keto.

I do love all the benefits of the keto diet, but I also want to get the nutrients and delicious taste of my tasty fruits in when I can. I’ve always thought that we should try to experience as much of life that we can and limiting something completely doesn’t sit well with me.

So I currently do keto in 30 day increments, going as long as 90 days at a time before taking a break for 1-4 weeks.

In my #offketo time, I still endeavour to eat as clean as possible. It’s not a time to go wild on unhealthy choices like sweets, fast food and pasta. Some things will just never make it back into my diet on a consistent basis.

I find that doing this helps me to keep the weight off even when #offketo. I still feel light and energetic in my #offketo cycles and I try to not go too long so that I completely undo my health and weight advances thus far.

In January of 2019 I will begin another cycle of strict keto, attempting a full 90-day stretch. You’re welcome to follow along! Maybe try it for 30 days and see how you feel. I’m sure you’ll lose some weight in that time!
