Air Fryer Boiled Eggs

Recently, a friend shared with me how she makes boiled eggs in the air fryer. Sure, I knew that I could use the stovetop to make hard boiled eggs. But the air fryer? It’s so easy that I don’t think I’ll ever boil eggs in water again.

Air fryer hard boiled eggs allow you to achieve perfectly cooked eggs with minimal effort. This method ensures consistently cooked eggs with firm whites and solid yolks every time. The best part? It’s all done in just 16 minutes.

This technique is a game changer for anyone looking to simplify their egg cooking process while still getting great results. Whether you’re making deviled eggs or just need a quick snack, air fryer hard boiled eggs are a fantastic option!

Hard boiled eggs make an excellent low-carb snack, containing less than half a gram of carbs each. With the air fryer method I’ve included here, you’re looking at just 0.3 grams of carbohydrates per egg. This makes them a great choice for anyone following a low-carb diet or simply wanting a healthy snack option. They’re packed with protein — 6 grams per egg — and can keep you feeling full without the extra carbs, making them a smart addition to your snacking routine!

What I love best about this air fryer method is that it eliminates the need for boiling water. You do still have to put the eggs in an ice bath afterwards, like the traditional method. But everything else is so streamlined that, even to this day, it still blows my mind how easy it is to boil eggs in the air fryer.

Using my Vortex 6-quart air fryer, I was able to hard boil nine eggs at time. Like with so many things that you make in the air fryer, it is important to put the food evenly spaced and in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This ensures equal and consistent air flow during the cooking process. So if you have a different size air fryer, you may be able to get more or fewer eggs in at one time.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Start by placing the eggs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are in a single layer and not overlapping.

Preheat your air fryer to 245 F for about 3-5 minutes. Once it’s preheated, carefully place the basket with the eggs into the air fryer. Cook the eggs at 245 F for 16 minutes.

After 16 minutes, use tongs to carefully remove the eggs from the air fryer.

Next, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with water and ice cubes. One by one, transfer the eggs gently into the ice water to cool for a few minutes.

Let them sit for about five minutes. Once cooled, peel the eggs and serve immediately for the best taste and texture!

Notes

Once your air fryer hard boiled eggs are ready, you have plenty of options for serving and storing them. If you plan to eat them right away, simply peel and enjoy them warm.

If you won’t be eating them immediately, it’s best to leave them unpeeled. Store the eggs in their shells in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they’ll stay fresh for up to one week. Be sure to label the container with the date you cooked them so you can keep track of when to enjoy them. When you’re ready, peel the shells and dig in!

Remember to handle your cooked eggs with clean hands to avoid contamination. If you notice any foul odors or discoloration, it’s best to discard the eggs to ensure your safety.
