Low-Carb BBQ Pork Sliders on Almond Flour Chaffles

Pinterest Hidden Image

These BBQ pork sliders are ridiculously juicy, tasty, and so easy to make. If you love burgers and miss having them on your keto diet, you’re going to love this recipe.

You’re probably thinking that they won’t taste as good because they are made with chaffles, but nothing could be further from the truth. They are just as good, if not better. Chaffles just have this unique flavor and texture about them that makes you forget about regular bread.

Trust me on that one.

What I Love About These Low-carb BBQ Pork Sliders

Usually, burger patties need eggs and breadcrumbs to help it all bind together but these babies didn’t have any extra ingredients except seasonings.

I love the simplicity of this recipe especially when following a ketovore diet. If you’re strictly carnivore, you’ll want to use the basic chaffle recipe for your burger bun.

I also love the fact that these BBQ pork sliders satisfy any craving I have for burgers perfectly.

I used my almond flour chaffle recipe as the bun to make these and it was an incredible choice. The light and crispy texture of the chaffle was just enough of a bite to complement the patties perfectly.

I’m excited to make these again with bacon and tomato slices.

What You Need For BBQ Pork Sliders

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp coconut or avocado oil
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 3 tbsp sugar-free BBQ sauce for topping

How to Make Low-carb BBQ Pork Sliders

  1. Mix all spices into pork using clean hands to work everything in evenly and quickly.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Form 6 balls from the pork mixture and flatten each to make a patty.
  4. Depending on the size of the pan, fry two or three at a time for 5 minutes, covered.
  5. Flip the patties and fry them for another three minutes on the other side.
  6. Separate cheese among each patty and add it to the tops at the last minute. Cover the pan so the cheese melts.
  7. Divide BBQ sauce between 3 chaffles that will serve as bottom buns.
  8. Serve patties on top of prepared almond flour chaffle and top with remaining chaffle.

This recipe makes about 6 sliders, and the serving is 2 sliders per person. When you’re making these, be sure to top with the cheese at the very last moment and cover the pan so the cheese melts.

If you use shredded cheese, some will naturally fall off the patty into the pan and crisp up.

For a keto-friendly BBQ sauce, be sure to look for a brand with no added sugars or one sweetened with Stevia. This is a popular sugar-free BBQ sauce on the market, and here’s another one you might want to try.

Variations and Suggestions

I’ve made these with almond flour chaffles but you can also serve them up with cheddar cheese chaffles. Here’s the recipe for those. These ones are also made with almond flour, but they are cheesy and yummier!

While these are also made with ground pork, you can certainly use ground beef, turkey, or chicken! Whatever meat you prefer. You can also mix and match the spices, and while you’re at it, why not toss in some chopped onions?

Suggested Toppings

Oh, where do we begin with this? You top those puppies with whatever tickles your fancy, but here are a few suggestions for you.

What to Serve With Your BBQ Pork Sliders

You can definitely enjoy these BBQ pork sliders on their own as a little midday snack or serve them up as a meal with a side dish. Here are a few suggestions.
