Spicy Keto Tuna Melts Muffins with Celery

Pinterest Hidden Image

Keto tuna melts is one of my all-time favourite keto snacks. I love to make egg cups as a snack, and when I stumbled upon this tuna melts recipe on Pinterest, I had to give it a try.

Before going keto, tuna sandwiches were one of my favourite things to eat. There was nothing like tuna mixed with mayo and celery in between two slices of white bread. Mmmm. But we don’t do that anymore.

I was so happy to find this tuna melts recipe as sometimes it can be really hard to find low carb canned tuna recipes. This is one of the things I love about keto, all the yummy foods that’s allowed on this way of eating. This helps to make it more of a long-term lifestyle and less of a restrictive diet for me.

How to Store Tuna Melts

You can safely store these keto tuna melts muffins in the fridge for up to one week, but I honestly wouldn’t go any longer than that.

Make sure to store in an airtight container.

Variations and Substitutes

While I’ve used celery to make this keto tuna melts recipe, you can certainly omit it and use your own veggie that you prefer. I think onions would fit nicely! Heck, you can even add tomatoes or spinach to this. Yum.

You can switch up the sharp cheddar cheese for a cheese of your choice. Mozzarella would be yummy in this too!

I’ve made these spicy, but you can omit the spice if you aren’t a spicy kind of person.

Feel free to add seasonings and spices of your choice for these. Here are a few suggestions for you to try.

  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • onion powder
  • Italian seasoning
  • parsley

The best cheese for a tuna melt cup is gonna be your standard sharp cheddar cheese but feel free to use your favourite variety.

With 11g of protein and 1.5 net grams of carbs total, this recipe is a winner for me.
