Ingredients
1/4cupunsalted butterroom temperature
2teaspoonsfresh thyme leavesstems removed
Pinchsea salt
Instructions
Add butter, thyme and salt to a small bowl. Combine thoroughly with a fork.
Transfer butter to a sheet of wax or parchment paper. Shape into a log and roll tightly.
Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least one hour to firm up.
Notes
Homemade compound, flavored or herb butter will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to five days. Since it spoils relatively quickly, it is better to make it in smaller batches so you can use up what you have.If you want a richer flavor to your herb butter, choose a higher-end butter source, such as Kerrygold Irish butter.
