Being on the keto diet means having to give up bread, and who doesn’t love white bread? One thing many keto dieters are always looking for is good low-carb bread recipes. You’re going to love this 3 ingredient and super easy-to-make cloud bread recipe.

I’ll be honest: it doesn’t taste anything like the white bread you grew up with and love, but it’s still a great alternative.

This cloud bread recipe uses yogurt to add moisture and softness to the bread. The result is a tender and flavorful bread with no extra carbs, which is great for breakfast or any time of the day, really!

Ingredients needed to make cloud bread

We don’t call it 3 ingredient cloud bread for nothing! This is all you need:

  • 3.5 oz. Greek yogurt
  • 3.5 oz. Egg whites (approx 3-4 eggs)
  • pinch of salt

Equipment required to make cloud bread

You’ll need a hand mixer to whip the egg whites and a silicone mold to bake it in.

How to make this basic cloud bread recipe

  1. 1. Wash eggs in warm water and pat dry. Separate the whites from the yolks. Set the yolks aside; they are not needed. You can store them in the fridge and use them later for other dishes.
  2. Whisk the egg whites with the salt into a stiff foam with the blender.
  3. 3. Place the Greek yogurt in a bowl. Add the egg whites. Gently use a silicone spatula to mix in the ingredients with a folding motion. Try to keep the mixture airy.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a silicone mold and smooth it out. Bake the bread in a 350 F oven for about 40-45 minutes.
  5. Carefully transfer the bread to a plate and serve immediately. The bread settles slightly as it cools but retains its delicate texture.

There are quite a few different ways to make cloud bread. Here are a few suggestions you can try. You can also make this bread sweet or savory, depending on what your taste buds feel like having!

  1. Substitute Greek yogurt for cream cheese (4 oz)
  2. Add garlic powder for a garlicky flavor
  3. Add sweetener and cinnamon for a sweeter treat
  4. You can also add food colouring for fun!

On another note, I wouldn’t recommend storing this keto bread. It doesn’t store well. So what does that mean? You gotta eat the whole thing in one sitting! But it’s small, don’t worry.

What does cloud bread taste like?

I wish I could tell you it tastes just like white bread, but I’d be lying. Think marshmallow meets angel food cake, minus the sweetness, unless you made this with sugar/sweetener.

If you’ve added herbs and spices or a sweetener to it, then it will have a great taste, plus the fluffy, squishy texture. Honestly, I think you’re gonna love it anyway.
