Pepperoni Pizza Chaffles Two Ways
Love pizza? Then you are gonna love these pepperoni pizza chaffles! I’ve got two recipes for pepperoni pizza chaffle for you today, try them both and tell me which one you prefer!
Are you feeling the chaffle craze in the keto community? You can’t possibly be on Instagram or Pinterest and not come across the chaffle, aka the low carb keto waffles taking over the scene! The base recipe is made from simply eggs and mozzarella cheese making it a completely no carb recipe!

Imagine having waffles on an egg fast or carnivore diet? This is definitely worth all the hype. When I came across them first on Youtube I got so intrigued, I went down the chaffle rabbit hole for hours amazed in wonder at all the different chaffle recipes people were coming up with.
I thought to myself, if these really taste good, this could be a serious game changer for me when it comes to keto for a couple of reasons.
If you’re lost and not sure how to get started with the keto diet, this meal plan is for you. It’s a fool-proof guide to winning at the high-fat, low-carb lifestyle.
Why I Love Keto Chaffles
Firstly, while I do love my coconut flour keto bread recipe, I haven’t quite liked it as a sandwich bread. I tried almond flour bread as well and same.
They’re just too dense and take away from the filling flavours. I still love to make these breads to have on their own with some peanut butter or cream cheese with a cup of tea or coffee, but they don’t cut it as sandwich bread for me.
I saw many variations of chaffle sandwiches on Youtube and I got super excited to try them.
I got even more excited of the prospect of finding another keto food item that munchkin would love.
I like the idea of switching out her snack items for low carb versions so even though she’s not a full keto kid, the more I can swap out carb the better I feel about her health. And who doesn’t love a good waffle?
So much so that I immediately went to Amazon to investigate waffle irons.
Choosing my Waffle Iron
Lots of Youtubers used these mini Dash Waffle Irons that make the perfect cute round sandwich-sized waffle and so I added one to my cart. But one thing I did note, if you wanted to make lots of waffles, this would be time-consuming.
In fact, many Youtubers had two which defeated the purpose for me of them being super affordable. Did I want that round shape so badly that I preferred to buy two mini waffle makers instead of a traditionally sized one that would give me half sandwiches?
So I checked out a few regular-sized irons as well and settled on this one. It had great reviews and seemed perfect for the price and size. The deal was sealed when it dropped to just under $12 for Black Friday. Score!
I’ve used it more than a dozen times so far and I can tell you, it was absolutely worth it. No regrets! In fact, I have video of my unboxing and seasoning it and making my first waffle which I will insert below once it’s edited but trust me, I love this waffle iron!

Pizza Waffle Crisp
I’m gonna call this first recipe a pizza waffle crisp. That’s because the sauce, the cheese and the pepperoni are all inside the waffle so it’s more of a pizza-flavored chaffle than a traditional pizza with toppings.

It was absolutely delicious and is a big lunch-kit contender! Pack this one in your little’s lunch or take it with you for snacks. It’s a good meal prep option especially if you’re new to keto and still a big snacker.

Pepperoni Pizza Chaffle
This is a more traditional pizza with my favorite basic chaffle recipe as the base and topped with sauce, cheese and pepperoni. We’ve made these a few times and they are devoured every time by keto and carb lovers.

Pepperoni Pizza Chaffle

A delicious low carb keto pizza recipe
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- ½ cup almond flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup cheddar cheese (shredded, divided)
- 2 tbsp marinara sauce
- 12 pepperoni slices
Preheat waffle iron as per instructions
Mix together first 4 ingredients as well as ¼ cup of the cheddar cheese.
Place batter on heated iron and cook for 4 minutes or until iron stops steaming.
Remove from waffle iron and place on cooling rack.
Top with mozzarella sauce, remaining cheese and pepperoni slices
Place under broiler on high for 4 minutes or until cheese is melted and pepperoni sizzling.
Enjoy
The high carb count in the nutrition facts above is undoubtedly from the marinara sauce as I wasn’t able to find my preferred low carb sauce in the nutrition facts generator. This still comes out at 3.6 net carbs per serving if you can’t find low carb marinara sauce, however, I suggest using this brand of sauce to keep your carbs even lower. It has zero net carbs and will make this recipe even more keto-friendly.
